For those unfamiliar, MUN is a simulation of the United Nations where students assume the roles of delegates from different countries to debate current global issues, draft resolutions, and develop negotiation and public speaking skills.
MUN has been a transformative journey for me, offering a platform to enhance my understanding of global issues, develop critical thinking, and refine my public speaking and leadership skills. It has also allowed me to connect with like-minded individuals who share a passion for diplomacy and international relations.
My passion for Model United Nations (MUN) began in 2020 with my participation in Concordia MUN. My first experience at Concordia MUN was both challenging and exhilarating. I familiarized myself with all the intricate rules of MUN. My efforts were rewarded when I received the “High Commendation Delegate” award. This recognition sparked a deep interest in MUN, driving me to participate in numerous conferences in the following years.
As my interest and expertise grew, I was honored when my school teachers appointed me as the Chair for our school’s first MUN. My dedication was acknowledged when I received the “Best Chair” award, along with heartfelt appreciation from my teachers and a letter of commendation from our School Principal.
Building on these experiences, I took my passion further by interning with the International Model United Nations (IMUN). During this internship, my contributions were recognized as IMUN declared me the Campus Ambassador and also as a token of appreciation, provided me with a Letter of Recommendation.
